AT LEAST THERE IS ONE THING WE ALL SHARE

The (plastic) straw that broke the camel’s back

Artwork from Friendly Liu: AT LEAST THERE IS ONE THING WE ALL SHARE

Individuals can impact a whole community with simple everyday actions, Friendly Liu’s work reminds us of that with her reflection on modern waste production and disposal.

From your morning takeaway coffee cup to your old phone battery, waste production is part of our everyday lives - just as waste disposal is part of our shared future.

The installation reflects on the consequences of an individual’s actions on humanity. Cynical and thought-provoking, this artwork aims to spark a reaction in the viewer, a call for everyone to think twice when throwing away waste, knowing that ultimately it can’t be disposed of, and we will all have to face the consequences again in the future.
